Drive Train Status - PTW
|Database variable name
PTW drive train condition.
State the condition of the PTW drive train.
Teeth on toothed drive belts generally wear faster than links on chains.
Wear on rubber or plastic belts and their teeth can be easily observed: the investigator should check for cracks or splits on the inner side of the belt.
(OECD RS9/TEG/ 151 definitions) Evaluation of the drive chain condition is accomplished by pulling on a single chain link located at the rearmost portion of the rear sprocket.
Normal movement of more than three chain links indicates wear to the drive chain.
