Description
State the road component type. Road component type classifies each road component into an elemental kind.
- Barrier
The road component is a barrier.
- Median Barrier
The road component is a median barrier, i.e. a barrier separating two roadways going in different directions.
- Hard Shoulder
The road component is a hard shoulder, i.e. the paved area outside the carriageway. It could also be painted lane divider between two lanes in the same direction.
- Marking
The road component is a road marking.
- Rumblestrip
The road component is a rumble strip, i.e. a profiled marking consisting of either scalloped or painted bumps designed to warn drivers if they drift out of their lane by transmitting vibrations and noise into the vehicle.
- Lane Active
The road component is an active lane, i.e. a participant in the accident has been present in this lane, either through travelling, skidding or in a final rest position.
- Lane Inactive
The road component is an inactive lane, i.e. no participant in the accident has been present in this lane.
- Median
The road component is a median, i.e. the area between two roadways.
