Description
State the level of adjustment to the front brakes of the PTW involved in the accident.
(OECD RS9/TEG/ 151 definition)
The following guidelines should be used to determine brake adjustment.
- Proper
- Brakes are in normal operating condition at time of inspection. No maladjustment noted.
- Severely Maladjusted
- Significant control action required for braking action. Brakes are operational however, the play in the brakes is in excess of the standard design limit. Also, one of the braking systems may be inoperable due to a severe adjustment problem (i.e. excessive play in the brake pedal or brake lever which causes it to bottom out prior to brake actuation)
